This is a REAL shrunken human head, crafted by the Shuar peoples of Ecuador!
Traditionally this process was performed exclusively on slain warriors but, as the demand for these products grew with traders, they began to prepare them for the tourist trade. The style, hair colouration and youth of the individual is a clear indicator that this piece was made for export towards the end of the head-shrinking tradition.
