This is a rare, large, sample of Grossular Garnet, collected in 1965 by the York River outside of Bancroft, Ontario (Canada)!
This site is now closed to the public and has since become a Provincial Park. It is now highly illegal to remove any specimens from this location.
For decades this beautiful specimen was on display at the Hobberlin Museum in Ontario, Canada but now it could make a fantastic addition to your collection.
At the broadest points it measures 11cm (4.3") x 7.5cm (3") x 7.8cm (3.1").
