Authentic Greek bronze litra coin for sale, featuring Athena on one side and a hippocamp (a combination of a horse and fish) on the reverse!

Dating back between 405-367 BCE, it was minted under the Greek Tyrant Dionysius I (also known as Dionysius the Elder).

Hailing from Syracuse, Sicily, he was firmly opposed to the Carthaginian rule of Sicily.

He launched a war against Carthage, from 397BCE to 392BCE and forced them from much of Sicily.

His conquest of several cities, from Southern Italy and Sicily, made Syracuse the most powerful of the western Greek colonies during his reign.

These specimens would make a great start, or addition, to any collection. AND CAN BE SHIPPED WORLDWIDE!
