This is an authentic ancient Mesopotamian Cylinder Seal! Dating back between 3000-600BCE, this seals once had more clearly engraved images and patterns. The specimen has undergone some erosion over the past few thousand years.
The owner of these would roll them onto a two-dimensional surface, most often wet clay. They were often used as an administrative tool, a signature, or to adorn jewelry and magical amulets.
