Hyracodons were pony-size prehistoric rhinos from the Oligiocene period (32-26 million years ago) of North America.
Only standing 1.5m long, the extinction of this medium-sized mammal marked the end of the world's hornless running rhinoceroses.
This particular ~10.5" long fossilized skull was originally found in the Brule Formation of South Dakota.
**There has been minor restorations on the sides of the skull. Please review the images for the condition of this specimen.**
