This is a real fossilized, Champlain Sea, Capelin fish, preserved in an Ice Age concretion!
The sea existed roughly 13,000-10,000 years before present, during which this fish lived and died.
The level of preservation on this museum-grade specimen is incredible and it would make a fantastic addition to any collection.
The Champlain Sea was a temporary inlet of the Atlantic Ocean, created by the retreating glaciers. The flooded area included parts of Ontario and Quebec, Canada along with parts of New York and Vermont.
We can ship this rare ~5.75" fossil worldwide! BOTH HALVES ARE INCLUDED.
