This is the fossilized remains of a prehistoric Ophiura brittle star!
Often mistaken for a starfish, these beautiful, prehistoric sea creatures were excavated in the Kataoua Formation of Morocco and date back to the Ordovician (~485-458 million years)!
The plate measures ~4.75" tall.
