This is a real, contemporary, human skull carved by the Dayak peoples of Borneo! Famous for their headhunting history, the skulls of slain enemies would historically be taken as trophies. The Dayak would carve intricate patterns into these skulls and hang (or display) them in their homes.
This skull exhibits hydrocephalus. Hydrocephalus (also known as "water on the brain") is a rare condition in which cerebrospinal fluid accumulates within the brain.
We can ship this amazing ethnographic specimen to respectful homes worldwide, anywhere the ownership of human osteology is legal!
Please note: the mandible is not originally from this skull. It has been included with the skull for better display purposes.
